“Hell-O” is the fourteenth episode of the American television series Glee. The episode premiered on the Fox network on April 13, 2010. It was written by series creator Ian Brennan and directed by Brad Falchuk. “Hell-O” sees cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) attempt to sabotage the relationship between glee club members Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith) and Rachel Berry (Lea Michele). Glee club director Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) attempts to begin a relationship with school guidance counsellor Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays), but several obstacles come between them, including the coach of rival glee club Vocal Adrenaline.
“Hell-O” introduces Idina Menzel as Vocal Adrenaline’s coach, and Jonathan Groff as the group’s lead singer. Glee fans had previously lobbied for Menzel to be cast as Rachel’s biological mother, due to the strong resemblance between Menzel and Michele. The episode features cover versions of six songs, all of which have at least the first syllable of the word “Hello” in the title, thus explaining the episode’s title: “Hello, I Love You” by The Doors, “Gives You Hell” by All American Rejects, “Hello” by Lionel Richie, “Hello Again” by Neil Diamond, “Highway to Hell” by AC/DC, and “Hello, Goodbye” by The Beatles.
Fan Initiatives Celebrate Return of GLEE Tuesday, April 13
The marketing campaign features special initiatives to get fans involved in the GLEE experience, including an online-exclusive trailer featuring interactive fan elements, broadcast promotions, an open casting call and exclusive premiere screenings.
Highlights of “GLEEk Week” include:
1. A new innovative social trailer that allows fans to connect with their favorite GLEE characters on Facebook while watching the promo for the series will be available at www.fox.com/glee beginning Monday, April 5.
2.Fan-favorite characters from GLEE will introduce each night telling viewers what’s on FOX that evening; and viewers should watch FOX programming closely thoughout the week to catch all of the special GLEE-themed FOX Frames that feature Sue Sylvester and other characters. Additionally, original cast interviews and content pieces will available online at fox.com.
3.GLEEks are encouraged to show their glee all week long on their social networking pages by changing their avatars to pictures of themselves posing with GLEE’s signature loser “L.” For GLEEks who need help with their Facebook page updates, status quotes from McKinley High’s crew – including Sue Sylvester and Kurt Hummel – will available on the GLEE Facebook fan page –www.facebook.com/glee – along with new photos starting Monday, April 5. Additionally, GLEE themed Facebook “gifts” will be available for free so keep an eye out for trophies and try to avoid slushies from your fellow GLEEks.
4.GLEEks can go to fox.com beginning Wednesday, April 7 to recreate the fun of a real photo booth by “posing” with their favorite characters from the show and uploading the photos to Facebook to share with friends and family.
5.On Wednesday, April 7, the cast of GLEE will be on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” for a fun-filled hour of behind-the-scenes secrets, revealing interviews, unseen backstage moments and a show-stopping performance.
6. Los Angeles residents will get a special treat on Saturday, April 10 when GLEE takes over The Grove with a free outdoor screening of the spring premiere episode and the debut of the GLEE fountain show. GLEE fans can also find additional screenings in select markets.

Great news, Gleeks: Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the cast of FOX’s award-winning musical comedy Glee will visit The Oprah Winfrey Show on April 7.
All cast members and series creator Ryan Murphy are expected to take part in the show, which will come two days after the cast performs at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll in Washington. Beginning March 29, Glee fans can oprah.com/glee, where they will find a character guide to their favorite cast members, a quiz that tests their “Glee” IQ, a behind-the-scenes photo gallery and more, according to a Harpo Productions news release issued Thursday.
The Oprah show will have interviews with the entire cast and will air the day following the Glee command performance for President Obama.
And in related news, the long-awaited Madonna episode will make its eagerly-anticipated debut on April 20.
